In Coral Gables and other cities alike, waterfront property has much higher value, particularly properties with dock space or access to open water. The main waterway in Coral Gables, the Gables Waterway, runs parallel to Riviera Drive and perpendicular to US 1; “upstream” it goes farther into the Gables, and “downstream” travels seaward until it empties into the Bay.
