It is June and we are still adapting but happy we are soon in Phase-2 of re-opening!
In a pre-Covid-19 era, June has always been for Miamians a quite busy month from the onset of hurricane season, graduations, summer vacations, house hunting, Father’s Day, and a favorite, Miami Spice!
But now during COVID-19, as much as we are staying positive, safe and healthy, the current events affecting much of re-openings and how we are moving forward as a society, it is causing us to truly pause and reflect. It has also brought more awareness and questioning how we handle all of this especially if we all want to get back to celebrations, hugs, certain routines outside of quarantine.
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to the Graduating Class of 2020! Driving around town, we see how much Miamians love to enjoy life and come together with signs on our front lawns, small family festivities at home to celebrate this milestone. We are proud of you and know you will make a huge impact post-pandemic era.
Next, Hurricane Preparedness 2020. Just in case you are new to the area or are in the process of still decluttering your garage or pantries, it is time to get prepared now for Hurricane Season. As we are seeing there is currently one brewing but thankful far away, let us not wait for the peak in August. And last and a favorite for Miamians: MIAMI SPICE is here! Who’s excited? Who is heading back at some point safely to try a new dish? We will get there soon and, in the meantime, remember, it will help keep supporting our amazing restaurants opened, thriving and that brings home paychecks for thousands of families. In true Miami style, we will bounce back even better with the guidance of our government officials but at the end of the day, we are a small business town filled with lots of grit, happy people and we adapt! Let’s continue to be safe, follow protocols to help boost our city through understanding, saving jobs and keep flattening the curve while enjoying going into Phase 2.
