With many employees working remotely amid the COVID-19 pandemic, prognosticators have declared the death of the company office.
Not so fast.

The company plans to close its multiple suites at 8050 SW 10th Street — a total of about 15,000 square feet — and move into the larger space to facilitate the NationsBenefits overall growth plan, said Michael Abes, the company’s chief financial officer of NationsBenefits.
The new headquarters will be located on the first floor of the two-story, 101,507-square-foot building. Nunes did not disclose details of the agreement but, he said, the average rent in Plantation varies from $15 per square foot to $28.50 per square foot on a triple net basis, depending on the space.
“South Florida has been a quickly growing market. Health and technology are growing sectors here. The fact that this company that blends technology and health underpins how South Florida is growing in that market and has a strong labor force,” Nunes said.

Said Abes via a release, “We’ve reached an exciting point in the company’s evolution, and we expect our new office to support our business growth and be our home for years to come. The new building will give us space to continue expanding and help us recruit top talent in a competitive market.”
The company has about 100 employees but expects to double that, Abes said.
The office market in Plantation continues to flourish, Nunes said, with companies prioritizing proximity to Fort Lauderdale — it’s about a 15-minute drive — and access to Florida’s Turnpike.
NationsBenefits was founded in 2015. It ranked first of 250 Florida-based private companies for its revenue growth from 2016 to 2018 on the inaugural 2020 Inc. 5000 Series.
